The Science
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which you breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The increased atmospheric pressure dissolves dramatically more oxygen into your plasma than is possible at sea level, so oxygen can reach tissue that compromised blood vessels can no longer feed.
That additional oxygen drives the cellular processes behind wound closure, infection control, and tissue repair — and it powers the FDA-approved indications we treat every day.
Inside the chamber
- 1
Compression
Gentle, gradual increase to treatment pressure (10–15 minutes).
- 2
Treatment
~90 minutes breathing 100% medical-grade oxygen.
- 3
Decompression
Gradual return to normal pressure, supervised by your technician.

Why HBOT works
The mechanisms behind the medicine
HBOT isn’t a wellness trend at HBOTQ — it’s the cellular biology of oxygen, applied to conditions where oxygen delivery is the missing piece.
Up to 20× more oxygen in your blood plasma
Pressurized 100% oxygen dissolves into plasma at levels impossible at sea level, reaching tissue that compromised blood vessels can no longer feed.
Stimulates new blood vessel growth
HBOT supports angiogenesis — new capillary formation — in chronically ischemic tissue, including diabetic wounds and post-radiation injury.
Boosts infection control
Oxygen-rich plasma enhances white blood cell activity and amplifies the effectiveness of many antibiotics in fighting persistent infection.
Accelerates tissue repair
Increased oxygen availability drives fibroblast activity, collagen synthesis, and the cellular signaling pathways needed for closure and recovery.
Supports brain and nerve recovery
Hyperbaric oxygen has been studied for its effects on the brain and nervous system, including in post-COVID syndromes and certain pain conditions.
Reduces inflammation
HBOT modulates inflammatory pathways, supporting recovery from chronic inflammation that can hold up healing for months.
What to expect
From first call to last treatment
Most patients say the hardest part is picking up the phone. Here’s how the rest looks once you do.
Book a free consultation
Tell us about your condition. Our team responds quickly, answers your questions, and schedules an in-person evaluation with our medical team.
Meet your physician
Your physician reviews your medical history, examines you, and discusses whether HBOT is the right fit. If it is, we coordinate with your other doctors and handle insurance pre-authorization.
Treatment in the chamber
You'll arrive, change into cotton scrubs, and settle into one of our hard-shell hyperbaric chambers. Sessions are about 90 minutes — most patients read, watch a movie, or nap.
Track progress, adjust the plan
We measure progress throughout your course of treatment. Your physician reassesses regularly to make sure the plan is still right, and we communicate clearly with you the whole way through.
While you treat
Just relax and breathe.
Most of our patients are surprised by how comfortable a session is. Our chambers are roomy enough to read, stream a movie on the built-in viewing screen, or simply rest. Our team checks on you throughout — and your time is your time.
- Read, stream, or nap
- Two-way intercom with staff
- Climate-controlled chamber
- Trained technician on every session
